We’re looking for a Hardware QA Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring that all Cartrack telematics and IoT hardware devices meet the company’s strict performance, reliability, and quality standards before deployment across global markets.
Mission:
- Conduct detailed hardware quality assurance testing for Cartrack’s full range of tracking and telematics devices;
- Perform in-office testing, including firmware validation, component testing, power management, GPS/GSM accuracy, and system integration;
- Execute field-based testing to verify hardware performance in real-world vehicle environments and various conditions;
- Develop, maintain, and execute QA test plans, checklists, and validation procedures;
- Document all results, non-conformities, and recommendations in structured QA reports;
- Collaborate closely with the Hardware Engineering and R&D teams to identify issues and implement design improvements;
- Support global hardware sign-off and certification processes for new product introductions;
- Investigate hardware-related incidents or failures reported from the field and assist with root cause analysis;
- Maintain rigorous testing standards and ensure compliance with global QA requirements;
- Demonstrate integrity, impartiality, and attention to detail in all validation and reporting activities.
Profile:
- 3–5 years’ experience in hardware quality assurance, validation, or testing, preferably within IoT, automotive, or telematics environments;
- Strong understanding of embedded systems, firmware testing, and electronic component behavior;
- Strong understanding of RS-232, UART, 1-Wire and CAN bus;
- Strong understanding of GSM and GPS;
- Proficiency in using testing equipment;
- Experience with field validation and data capture from live environments;
- Working knowledge of QA documentation processes;
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills with an out-of-box approach in providing solutions;
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality;
- Effective communicator, capable of liaising with cross-functional teams locally and globally;
- Driver’s license.
